The pilot program that grants full Armed Services YMCA memberships to families of deploying National Guard members and reservists has been expanded to all 50 states. Under the Respite Child Care program, eligible families can receive full YMCA memberships from three months before deployment dates until three months after service members return. The program includes up to 16 hours of "short break" child care. The program had helped more than 220 children while it was a 10-state pilot; since expanding nationwide Oct. 1, another 200 children have benefitted.
