Retired Marine Corps Gen. James E. "Hoss" Cartwright, the former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is facing an investigation by the Justice Department regarding his role in discussing classified information with news media outlets. The probe centers upon allegations that Cartwright leaked details regarding the Stuxnet virus, a joint U.S.-Israeli program designed to disrupt Iran’s nuclear capabilities. "General Jim Cartwright is an American hero who served his country with distinction for four decades. Any suggestion that he could have betrayed the country he loves is preposterous," said Cartwright’s attorney, Gregory Craig, June 28.
