Philip Bilden has asked President Trump to withdraw his name from consideration as the next secretary of the Navy. Bilden, a West Point graduate who made a fortune in investment banking, issued the following statement on Feb. 26 through the Pentagon: “I have determined that I will not be able to satisfy the Office of Government Ethics requirements without undue disruption and materially adverse divestment of my family’s private financial interests.”
