Social Security Process To Get Quicker

Veterans should encounter much faster Social Security disability-claims processing. Acting Social Security Commissioner Carolyn W. Colvin and Rep. John Sarbanes, D-Md., announced Feb. 19 a joint initiative with the Department of Veterans Affairs to give high priority to veterans with 100-percent VA disability ratings. While the new initiative speeds up the processing, Social Security officials noted that each case still must be approved on its merits. The program should kick off sometime in March.
