Police in Fayetteville, N.C., arrested a soldier July 2 for carrying an AR-15 rifle and wearing a bulletproof vest in a local shopping mall. Bryan Scott Wolfinger’s presence in the garb scared customers and caused a lockdown of the mall, according to USA Today. Wolfinger, who surrendered willingly, was charged with going armed with terror to the public, and released to the custody of his unit at nearby Fort Bragg. He said he was wearing the gear and holding the rifle with the intent of having his picture taken in it by a portrait gallery in the mall.
