Spc. Walter Glenn Eller III of Katy, Texas, a member of the Fort Benning, Ga.-based U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, earned the gold medal in double trap at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing on Aug. 13. In doing so, he set a new world record by scoring 145 in the qualification rounds. In double trap, shooters armed with 12-gauge shotguns are allowed two shots to try to hit two targets launched within one second of each other.
