Somalia Airstrike Targets Terror Group

US military aircraft conducted an air strike against the al-Shabaab terrorist network on Dec. 29, the Pentagon has confirmed. The target of the attack centered upon the village of Saakow, Somalia, Pentagon spokesman Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby said in a prepared statement. Kirby also said that the strike did not inflict any casualties on civilians or bystanders, and that results of the operation were still being assessed.
