SS Expedites Benefits for Wounded Warriors

The Social Security Administration has announced that service members can receive expedited processing of disability claims for Social Security benefits. Because the benefits are different from those provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs, they require a separate application. The expedited process is used for service members who become disabled while on active military service on or after October 1, 2001, regardless of where the disability occurs.
