The Navy successfully tested its Common Control System (CCS), which will advance the ability to control unmanned submersible vessels considerably. The testing took place Dec. 7-11 at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Keyport in Puget Sound, Wash. Once fully operational, CCS would be deployed on the planned Large-Displacement Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (LDUUV), now under development.
