The Air Force is warning all officers and airmen that some could experience delays in receiving their pay in March, as the service implements a system upgrade to its Military Personnel Data System. (MilPDS). Those who are scheduled for promotion March 4-26, will be affected in particular. “Unfortunately, until MilPDS is back online, promotions that become effective during this window will not be able to be processed,” said Lt. Col. Shelley Strong, operations division chief at the Air Force Personnel Center. “Their promotions will … automatically update as soon as the system is back online,” Strong said. Airmen who do not receive updated promotion information within 10 days after the upgrade is complete should contact their base personnel section.
