Talks With Russia Continue

Defense Department and senior White House officials are continuing to talk with their Russian counterparts regarding restoration of peace in Syria and defeat of the Islamic State. Pentagon leaders conducted a third video conference with Russian defense officials Oct. 14. “Progress was made during the discussions, which were professional and focused narrowly on the implementation of specific safety procedures,” a Pentagon statement said.
