Toys for Tots Hits Seasonal Stride

The Marine Corps Reserve again has ramped up its annual Toys for Tots Foundation donation drive, with the intent of gathering enough donations to ensure that as many children as possible receive gifts during the holiday season. Since its inception in Los Angeles in 1947, the foundation has collected more than 469 million toys and delivered them to more than 216 million needy children. What started as a voluntary charity became an official activity of the Marine Corps and an official mission of the Marine Corps Reserve in 1995.
