U.S. Forces Afghanistan has suspended the training of Afghan local police recruits, in light of the spate of attacks against coalition forces by Afghani trainees. Training will move forward again only when U.S. officials have pre-vetted the program’s Afghan participants. Cooperative operations with the Afghan national army and police force will continue. Officials also announced that a key suspect in a related attack that killed three Australian soldiers and wounded three others on Aug. 29 has been captured.
