As of Oct. 1, retirees began paying slightly higher fees for health-care coverage under TRICARE Prime. Family coverage rose $520 per year, while individual coverage rose $260 per year. Fees will rise again on Oct. 1, 2012. TRICARE officials say the increases will allow the agency to keep costs in check. TRICARE charges no out-of-pocket fees for active duty service members.
