Tricare Management Activity (TMA) is allowing its beneficiaries in three flood-ravaged states to refill their prescriptions sooner than usual. Early refills are available in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine, where governors have declared states of emergency. TMA, the Defense Department agency that administers the military health plan, has been working closely with its pharmacy contractor, Express Scripts, Inc., to ensure that those affected by the flooding maintain access to their prescription benefits. Normally, beneficiaries may not refill prescriptions until their supply drops below a certain level. However, TMA recognizes that those affected by severe flooding may not have access to their medications, so it is allowing beneficiaries to obtain refill prescriptions as needed. For more information, call Express Scripts, Inc., at (866) DOD-TRRX, or call HealthNet (North region) at (877) 874-2273; or visit www.tricare.osd.mil/DisasterRelief.
