Beneficiaries of TRICARE, the military’s managed health-care plan, should be wary of any mail solicitations to take part in anything labeled “Tricare Survey Inc.” It is a scam, the Defense Health Agency said. An item published Sept. 11 on the Fleet Reserve Association Web site described the contents of such letters. They ask recipients to “cash” enclosed “checks” valued at $3,775. Recipients should not follow those instructions. Doing so provides the scammers with card numbers, which they use to drain recipients’ accounts of the $3,775.
