Beneficiaries who are covered by TRICARE for Life (TFL) can receive influenza vaccines from numerous locations at no cost in most cases, the agency advises. Medicare-eligible TFL beneficiaries can receive their flu shots for free from any Medicare provider who agrees to the Medicare-approved fee as full payment. TRICARE network pharmacies also will provide the vaccines. Beneficiaries can find locations online at www.express-scripts.com/TRICARE or by calling (877) 363-1303. Military treatment facilities also will offer them to retirees during scheduled retiree appreciation days, and medical centers operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will also provide them. In both cases, those wanting the immunizations should call first for availability before making a trip to a DoD or VA facility. Those stationed overseas should make arrangements with local providers to get their flu shots, and expect to pay at the time of service and then file a claim.
