The latest rules regarding health care coverage under TRICARE for so-called "gray area" retirees were published in the Federal Register Aug. 6. Under the changes, affected retirees – who met qualifications for retirement while serving in reserve components but have not yet reached age 60 – can buy TRICARE Standard coverage as early as this September, with coverage taking effect Oct. 1.
