The Navy unveiled the names of the next two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. The destroyer designated DDG 117 will be named Paul Ignatius, after the man who served as secretary of the Navy between 1967 and 1969 under President Lyndon B. Johnson. The destroyer designated DDG 118 will be named Daniel Inouye, after the Democratic senator from Hawaii who earned the Medal of Honor for his actions while serving in the Army in Italy during World War II. Both ships will be able to travel in excess of 30 knots, with the capability of performing a host of peacetime and crisis-management missions.
