U.S. soldiers from the 41st Fires Brigade and a contingent of Iraqi troops took over checkpoint and patrol-base operations near Forward Operating Base Delta in Iraq on Aug. 15, following the departure of Georgian troops who returned home because of the Russian military incursion into South Ossetia.
