Veterans who have cases pending before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (BVA) should see them resolved more quickly. The Department of Veterans Affairs appointed 20 new Veterans Law Judges, bringing the total number to 113, on Aug. 9.

“Veterans Law Judges are a key part of ensuring veterans receive the benefits and services they have earned and deserve” said VA secretary Denis McDonough. “Once I swear in the new judges, this puts in place added resources to reduce the appeals inventory.”

The new judges should be on the job by the end of the year, with more slated for appointment sometime in 2022.
