The Obama administration’s proposed Department of Veterans Affairs budget for 2011 would provide $217.6 million to meet specific health-care needs of female veterans – an increase of $18.6 million from 2010 levels. Provisions include increased training for VA health-care providers, and implementation of a round-the-clock peer call center and social networking Web site for women who have served in combat.
