Another 65,000 veterans finally had their pending claims for benefits or disability compensation resolved since April, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced June 20. The figure represents 97 percent of all claims that have been pending for more than two years, VA said. The agency was able to resolve the cases because it was authorized to pay overtime to Veterans Benefits Administration claims processors and Veterans Health Administration physicians, according to a VA statement. Most other pending claims more than two years old should be resolved soon.
