Children of veterans soon will have places to play while their parents undergo treatment at Department of Veterans Affairs health-care facilities. VA is teaming up with KaBOOM!, a national non-profit group that provides safe recreation environments for children, to place such systems at locations nationwide. The areas will be placed at Fisher House facilities as well. Within the next three years, roughly 85,000 children would be able to take advantage of the new playgrounds. Gainesville, Fla., and Salt Lake City, Utah, would be the first cities to receive the facilities.
