Three whistleblowers who went public with complaints about misconduct at the Department of Veterans Affairs medical treatment facility in Phoenix, Ariz., have reached settlements with the department. The employees had filed complaints that they had been punished for stepping forward. Each has accepted new positions within VA. “At VA, we take whistleblower complaints seriously and will not tolerate retaliation against those who raise issues which may enable VA to better serve veterans,” said VA Secretary Robert McDonald on Sept. 29.
