All four active components of the armed services met their recruiting accession goals through February, for the fiscal year that began Oct. 1, 2011. The active Army reported 22,478 accessions; the active Navy, 11,978 accessions; the active Marine Corps, 9,058 accessions, and the active Air Force, 12,314 accessions. The Navy Reserve, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve also achieved their recruiting goals, with 3,099, 3,389, and 3,564 accessions respectively. The Army Reserve and Marine Corps Reserve each exceeded recruiting goals, with 12,064 and 3,817 new accessions respectively. The Army National Guard fell short, with 19,910 new accessions – below the projection of 21,483.
