Active Duty Reservists Increase
The Department of Defense has announced that the Navy, Air
Force and Marine Corps have each reported a decrease in
reservists on active duty supporting the partial
mobilization, but with the Army’s increase, the net result
is plus 10,213 reservists overall.
DoD said the total number of reservists is in constant
flux due to the simultaneous mobilization of some and
demobilization of others, and that the new figures as of
January 7, show the total number of personnel currently
on active duty in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve
is 164,847; Naval Reserve 1,491; Air National Guard and
Air Force Reserve, 19,942; Marine Corps Reserve, 6,515,
and the Coast Guard Reserve, 1,164. This brings the total
National Guard and Reserve on active duty to 193,959
including both units and individual augmentees, according
to DoD.
