By: FEDweek StaffThe House has scheduled voting for a soon as next week on a series of bills requiring more interagency cooperation on research and development, including:
* HR-1713, to require Agriculture and Energy to collaborate on topics including environmental science, biofuels, energy storage, invasive species management, electric grid modernization, and rural technology development.
* HR-2980, to require Energy and the National Science Foundation to collaborate on topics including plasma science, advanced physics, quantum information sciences, and advanced manufacturing. The bill also would require DOE and the NSF to promote data sharing, support research infrastructure, and organize initiatives for STEM education and training.
* HR-2988, to authorize Energy and NASA to collaborate on topics including propulsion systems, data analytics, high energy physics, and earth and environmental sciences.
