The Senate has confirmed the former Assistant Secretary
for Budget and Programs and Chief Financial Officer at
the Department of Transportation, Linda M. Combs, as the
new Controller of the Office of Management and Budget.
In her previous role she oversaw budgetary and management
functions. The new appointment places her in a
government-wide leadership role for strengthening financial
management in federal agencies and programs, according to
OMB.
The Controller leads the Office of Financial Management,
and OMB said Combs — a graduate of the senior managers in
government program at Harvard University – would lead the
improved financial performance initiative for the PMA.
