The Department of Homeland Security has announced two new
programs for IT acquisitions, one for IT services called
EAGLE – for Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge
solutions, and another for IT commodities called First
Source.
“The programs are designed to meet the goal of one IT
infrastructure, and will run out of the Enterprise
Solutions Office, a joint program office, under the IT
Acquisition Center,” said DHS CIO Scott Charbo.
He said the programs would eventually satisfy most of
DHS information task requirements.
The programs are being established under the Federal
Acquisition Regulation and will consist of multiple
contracts to both large and small businesses, and DHS
will issue requests for proposals in the next few
weeks, it said.
