Federal Manager's Daily Report

Five federal management associations have joined to form

the Government Managers Coalition to collectively

advocate for good government solutions.

The newly formed GMC issued a statement saying it was

currently working with lawmakers to provide for compensation

for workers who do not abuse FERS sick leave, mandatory

supervisor training and re-training, clarity on the status

and treatment of managers when subordinates file equal

opportunity complaints, and an extension of the probationary

period for most new employees.

The associations are the Federal Aviation Administration

Managers Association, the Federal Managers Association,

the National Council of Social Security Management

Associations, the Professional Managers Association,

and the Senior Executives Association, which together

represent close to 200,000 federal supervisors, managers,

and executives

“Our organizations have worked together informally on

many issues in the past, but this coalition will give us

a chance to endorse solutions that will have a significant

impact on the effectiveness of our federal government,”

William Bransford, SEA general counsel said.
