GSA has tapped Vince Warrick, a former associate administrator in the performance improvement office, as acting chief acquisition officer.
Prior to GSA, Warrick was at operating firm, the Harbour Group. He is replacing Emily Murphy, the first person to hold that post, who is joining the Washington law firm of Miller and Chevalier, according to GSA.
The personnel change follows shuffling among the agency’s top acquisition positions in recent weeks that saw the deputy commissioner for the Federal Acquisition Service, Martin Wagner, retire, as well as the selection of Kevin Messner in November as acting associate administrator in charge of GSA’s congressional and governmental affairs office, recently merged with the government-wide policy office.
Messner, the first political appointee to hold that post, took over from John Sindelar who served in that role since December 2005 and was program manager for lines-of-business consolidation initiatives.
