FEMA is conducting a hiring push into excepted service career ladder positions starting at GS-9 paying about $46,000, and some with promotion potential up to the GS-13 level.
A recent job fair, featuring on the spot interviews and hiring, was held to find specialists, for contracting, HR, financial management, IT, emergency management, and program analysis, the agency said.
FEMA said that qualify candidates are required to have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level or a Master’s or equivalent degree, or two full years of progressively higher graduate-level education leading so such a degree.
Interns would be converted to career status after meeting qualifications and performance requirements and successful completion of the program.
