The Department of Labor has given its compliance assistance
webpage a makeover designed to better communicate to the
regulated community how to understand and comply with
federal employment law that the agency administers.
The site boasts a new search function for locating
compliance information by topic or audience, so, for
example, users don’t need to know the name of a law to
find relevant information.
It was reportedly worked on in-house, is much cleaner
than its earlier version and has the potential cut back
on the amount of costly, direct, agency-to-customer
assistance.
“Today’s employers and workers are demanding access to
accurate, easy-to-understand employment law information,
24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Veronica Stidvent,
assistant secretary for policy.
The site was redesigned for more intuitive navigation among
content such as fact sheets, employment law guides,
regulatory texts and forms, and links to an interactive
online tool designed to clarify employment law and a toll
free help line. It is available here:
