Two Army officials have been chosen as winners of prestigious
management awards, the William H. Kushnick and John W. Macy,
Jr. Awards, which will be presented May 20. The winner of
the Kushnick Award is Gregory A. Wert, a human resources
specialist at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., who is being
honored for outstanding contributions to marketing and
training on Army-wide automated human resources systems
and tools, leading the standardization of automated
processing, developing solutions to processing problems
and sharing of information and ideas for improving
personnel action processing.
The winner of the Macy award is Col. Christopher G. Essig,
garrison commander of Fort Myer, Va., who is being
honored for establishing a fire and emergency services
team, advocating equal employment opportunity and
multi-cultural activities and leading the in-house team
to winning two A-76 competitions while maintaining and
improving workforce morale and productivity.
