Among line employees responding to the Army survey, the
highest level of satisfaction, with only 15 and 13 percent
disagreeing or disagreeing strongly, came in response to
the statements, “I feel free to go to my supervisor with
questions or problems about my work” and “My supervisor is
competent in handling the technical parts of his/her job.”
About two thirds agreed, agreed strongly or were neutral
toward statements that their jobs make good use of their
abilities, that they are satisfied with their jobs, that
they find their jobs challenging, that they would recommend
others to pursue a career in the federal government, that
their supervisors give them the support and backing they
need to do their job well, and that their supervisors let
them know how well they are doing on the job and have a
strong interest in the welfare of their subordinates.
Among supervisors, 83 percent gave favorable or neutral
responses to statements that their jobs make good use of
their abilities and that they find the work challenging.
More than two-thirds also responded favorably to statements
that they feel free to go to their supervisors with
questions or problems about their work, that their
supervisors are competent, that they are satisfied overall,
and that their supervisors give them support, keep them
informed, let them know how well they are doing and have
a strong interest in the welfare of their subordinates.
