The Viack Corporation, a government contractor
specializing in secure communications, has released a
telework guide that gives an overview of tools managers
may want to consider when faced with the prospect of
inaccessible employees working remotely and the need to
keep sensitive documents and communications secure.
In addition to a phone, a computer with a high-speed
connection and a fax machine, a software interface
designed specifically for teleworking, enhanced with
peripherals such as a web-cam and a head-set could
improve the success of teleworking arrangements,
according to Viack.
Viack’s product — VIA3, which it describes as “an
online meeting solution” — incorporates video, audio,
instant messaging, security, shared presentations, a
live view where the user can allow others signed into
the system to view their screen in real time, an
electronic file cabinet for document storage and sharing,
joint editing capabilities, a firewall, integration with
Microsoft Outlook and other Office applications, and
other features.
