FLTCIP, TSP Open Seasons Ending

The current open seasons for both the Thrift Savings Plan and the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program end December 31. The next TSP open season will run April 15-June 30. Open seasons are the only time in which eligible persons not participating in the program may join it, or in which current investors may change the amount of their ongoing payroll withholdings. The FLTCIP open season offers active employees and their spouses the chance to enroll with the need to answer fewer questions about their health than will apply if they enroll outside the open season. The Office of Personnel Management has promised that there will be future open seasons but has not said when the next one will be, nor has it guaranteed that abbreviated underwriting will apply in any future open season.
