What is the minimum that FERS retirees can leave to survivors in order for them to be covered by FEHB upon the death of the retiree? Blocked by moderator

There are only two options available to permit your spouse to continue FEHB should you pass away first. A full survivor benefit which is equal to half of your FERS or a partial survivor benefit which is equal to 25% of your FERS. The costs are 10% or 5% and the cost is calculated at retirement and becomes a fixed amount although both your pension and your spouse’s entitlement go up by any COLAs applicable. In addition to electing a survivor benefit, your spouse must also be on your FEHB plan on the date of death in order to continue coverage. Blocked by moderator
