Working Past Pay Cap and Bonuses

I just entered the No-Fly Zone Pay cap as a Manager. Whay happens to pay, manager bonuses and annual Congressional pay raise adjustments if I hit my pay cap during the year? I read that all are deferred for a Lump Sum payment in January of the next calendar year? Can anyone verify? If I hit my Pay Cap during the year, what happens? Do I continue to work unpaid?

This is a very confusing area because each agency does it differently which means you will need to check with your agency about their policy. FYI, some agencies, like the USMS, will roll overpay into the following year IF they are below the cap in that year whereas other agencies, like the FBI, do not. And remember, if there are no FERS deductions, it cannot count for retirement.
