Strykers Deploy Above Arctic Circle

A unit of Army Stryker combat vehicles deployed for the first time ever north of the Arctic Circle Nov. 3-4. Roughly forty members of the Army’s 1st Stryker Combat Brigade Team few to the site in Deadhorse, Alaska, on an Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, which also carried four Strykers. The exercise also involved the Alaska Department of Natural Resources and the North Slop Bureau (Alaska’s equivalent to county), and focused on training the troops to operate in extreme cold.
