The CIO Council has announced that its shared services task force and the American Council for Technology / Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) will be holding a shared services professional development forum on Tuesday, September 16th at the Grand Hyatt Washington in NW Washington DC.

The White House is increasingly emphasizing shared services, in particular for meeting IT needs. The one-day professional development event is an opportunity to network and attend workshops designed specifically around questions and issues being addressed by the federal shared services community, according to the CIO Council.

It said the goal of the forum is to engage government and industry leaders who are focused on best practices/lessons learned in shared services transitions, delivery, and critical success factors for expanded use of shared services, as well as leveraging public-private shared services partnerships.
