GSA said it is developing another new system dubbed “ASSIST” that has emerged from a partnership with GSA IT and the Federal Acquisition Service’s Assisted Acquisition Service that could also aid IT acquisition.
Development and implementation are roughly at the midway point. When it’s operational the system is expected to integrate contracting with funds management and provide better data for business decision-making.
ASSIST’s registration consolidation project established a new central mechanism for GSA, vendor and client registration, and GSA said development has entailed the removal of legacy hardware, software and license costs as well as a reduction of operational burdens associated with user account maintenance.
