DHS’s CIO has been appointed as the new vice-chair of the CIO Council, where he will be charged with overall leadership and management for the Council and its activities, represent the interests of member CIOs, and act as advisor to the federal CIO and OMB on issues related to federal IT and the Council, according to the Council’s blog.
It said Luke McCormack has been on the Council since March of 2012 and has helped steer its cyber-security work by co-chairing the Information Security and Identity Management Committee, and he served as vice-chair of the Digital Services Advisory Group, which advised the federal CIO on all aspects of implementation of the Digital Government Strategy.
McCormack previously served as the CIO of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and held various positions in Customs and Border Protection, as well as with MCI and Ford Aerospace.
