Decreasing budgets for the foreseeable future means prioritizing increased procurement competition and stronger acquisition discipline, Army MG Alan Lynn, vice director and senior procurement executive for the Defense Intelligence Services Agency, told attendees at its annual Forecast to Industry event.
The August 20 event drew about 750 attendees with about 1,000 more following online. DISA said that it is currently assessing the demand for services, the demand for a DISA-developed contract vehicle, and existing multi-agency contracts that may be able to meet DoD’s requirements.
Dave Bennett, director of Enterprise Information Services and chief information officer, was among the speakers. He said the agency’s relatively new cloud service offerings would initially focus on Infrastructure as a Service and that plans will be updated this fall partly as a reflection of demand. “Unified Capabilities as a Service (UCaaS) is going to be a significant game changer within the agency in terms of providing capability,” Bennett said.
