GSA has announced a new digital government program called 18F, designed to accelerate innovation across the federal government.
It describes the program as a digital hub that will house services such as the Presidential Innovation Fellows program and GSA’s newly launched digital delivery team consisting of technology innovators and entrepreneurs charged with driving efficiency, transparency, and savings.
GSA said it wants to bring some of the people, principles, and methodologies of the technology startup world with the government’s leaders in innovation.
The program partners with agencies to deliver high quality in-house digital services using the agile methodologies of the top technology startups; Rapidly deploys working prototypes; Offers digital tools and services aimed at reuse; and, Transparently builds and integrates digital services.
