GSA has issued a $50 billion request for proposal for the follow-on contract to Networx. It described the Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions – EIS, contract as a comprehensive solutions-based contract addressing all aspects of federal IT, telecommunications, and infrastructure requirements bundled for ease of use, ease of ordering, and savings for government agencies.
GSA expects to award the contract in 2016, and EIS should be available to agencies by 2017. Current Networx and Regional contracts will be extended from 2017 to 2020 to allow for an easier transition. Website: www.gsa.gov/eis
