IG to Audit Cloud-Computing Implementation at Transportation

Department of Transportation inspector general has announced plans to audit management practices for the implementation of cloud computing services throughout the department. With federal agencies being required to default to cloud-based solutions whenever possible under a White House directive, the IG said it will look into whether the department has an effective process to transition IT services to the cloud, and whether it has identified and mitigated security risks associated with transitioning to cloud computing.
