Agencies are making modest progress meeting the goals of the Digital Government Strategy to allow federal employees to access quality data any time, anywhere on any device, according to a report by the Mobile Work Exchange (formerly the Telework Exchange).
The report, underwritten by VMWare and Carahsoft, and based on a survey of 154 federal IT/HR managers, said the government gets a B- when it comes to the Digital Government Strategy, and a B+ on meeting the goals of the Telework Enhancement Act.
Overall, 77 percent of IT managers give their agency a B or C on their progress toward the goals of the Digital Government Strategy, according to the report
There also appears to be mixed views on what’s working and what’s not. Respondents cited the following tactics as having been the most successful: employee training, security training, laptop rollout, phone/smartphone rollout, and continuity of operations planning.
However, they also said the following need the most work: application management, employee training, security training, tablet rollout, and continuity of operations.
