OMB has announced it finalized standards to improve the consistency and quality of federal spending data.
It said the standards – guided by the DATA Act – would help address a great deal of variation across different information systems and give a clearer picture of federal spending through USAspending.gov.
OMB and Treasury said in a joint announcement they partnered with federal funding recipients, open government advocates and industry professionals to garner feedback throughout the process of finalizing the standards.
OMB and Treasury also said they would continue to work with agencies to help them begin to implement the DATA Act reporting requirements.
